Steve Rossman Chairs Easter Seals National Board for Third Year

MIAMI - Stephen Rossman, co-founding partner of the Miami trial law firm Rossman, Baumberger, Reboso & Spier, P.A., has been elected national board chair of Easter Seals, Inc. for the third year.

In his third term, which began at the recent Easter Seals annual convention in Chicago, Mr. Rossman plans to deepen the nonprofit organization’s commitment to helping veterans of the armed forces and their families and those of the fallen as they readjust to life away from the war zone and expand Easter Seals’ role as a primary national clearinghouse for veterans’ services.

Easter Seals is the nation’s largest nonprofit services provider for children and adults with disabilities. The organization provides services and support to more than 1.4 million people each year through a network of 72 affiliates with 550 sites in the United States and through Ability First Australia. Easter Seals includes global partners Easter Seals Canada and CONFE, based in Mexico City.

Easter Seals offers help, hope, and answers to children and adults living with autism and other disabilities or special needs and their families.

“We are doing exciting new things to enhance our mission,” Mr. Rossman said. “One of our most gratifying new efforts is an initiative through Easter Seals to help veterans, their families and the families of the fallen get the benefits they need to become successful, integrated members of the community. We have found that veterans and their families want to be significant contributors to their communities, and Easter Seals is proud to help make that happen.” For more information, see: https://www.easterseals.com/

Mr. Rossman is the first South Floridian to chair the national board of the nonprofit charitable organization. He has been active in Easter Seals since he and his late wife, Karen, brought their daughter, then six, to the Easter Seals Demonstration School in Miami in 1984. He has since been active as a volunteer, fundraiser, member of the board, and chair of the Miami (now South Florida) Chapter.

Mr. Rossman represented Easter Seals South Florida as a member of Easter Seals National House of Delegates in 1997-2007 and served on the Membership & Organizational Structure (MOS) Committee. Elected to Easter Seals national Board of Directors in October 2004 and re-elected in 2007, he has served as board first vice-chairman, secretary, chairman of the Affiliate Services Committee, vice chairman of the Public Affairs Committee, and a member of the Executive and Finance Committees.

“Easter Seals is the finest delivery system for services for people with disabilities in the country,” Mr. Rossman said. “And I have seen it from all perspectives, as a parent of a client, volunteer and board member at the local and national level. Easter Seals is a magnificent community of caring people, and every day they are finding solutions to help people overcome obstacles and be the best that they can be.”
